WITCHING HOUR

Step into a world where folklore, magic, and music intertwine - Witching Hour is a spellbinding live performance that merges classical, contemporary, and folk music with storytelling.
In the mystical forests of Leanachan, Scotland, a woman accused of witchcraft escapes into the wild, encountering faeries, will-o’-the-wisps, and ancient magic. Featuring a world premiere by Samuel Kane alongside music by Donald Grant, Missy Mazzoli, Caroline Shaw, Barbara Strozzi, and Radiohead, tales from British folklore are brought to life by string quartet, lever harp, and singer/narrator.

VIBRANT SOUNDS RESIDENCY
In September 2024, we spent a week writing, improvising and recording with the wonderful Dudù Kouate. Dudù is a Senegalese percussionist and multi-instrumentalist, who has performed internationally with Abel Selacoe, Alan Keary and many more. In just over three days, we created a brand new set together, culminating in a performance to a warm and welcoming audience at Le Café Pluche. The residency took place in l'Espace Sauvanie, France and was organised by Creative Peaks and Vibrant Sounds.

IN TIME
Eight musicians come together to create an immersive, moving, and daring performance which explores the relationship between humans and time.
We spent four days, as part of RNCM Lab Week combining recorded interviews with loved ones, projections, lighting, and live electronics in the amazing space of the RNCM Concert Hall.
Featuring music by Meredith Monk, Gabriella Smith, Bryce Dessner, Henry Purcell, and RNCM’s own Devon Bonelli, NOMAD tell a story of memories, the passing of time, and human connection.

THE
GARDENER'S DAUGHTER

a gardener planted a flower
but instead a child was grown
they call her the gardener's daughter
he raised her like his own
An immersive new work where one girl’s tale of growth, loss and rediscovery is brought to life through an enchanting musical journey. With music by Lili Holland-Fricke, Iona Kaye, James MacMillan and Ēriks Ešenvalds.

MANCHESTER INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
We were honoured to be a part of Manchester International Festival 2023, performing at the Festival Square stage at Aviva Studios. We performed a set of contemporary music and folk as part of a line up presented by The Untold Orchestra.
